8 Stars in 4 Days...

If you like food porn, you'll love this. We took pictures of every course (sometimes we forgot until halfway through the dish) at 2 Michelin 3-Star restaurants near San Sebastián, Spain and 2 Michelin 1-Star restaurants in Barcelona. In all cases we turned ourselves over to the sommelier to pair (mostly Spanish) wines with the courses and got some delicious surprises.

Akelare ~ San Sebastián, Spain

Restaurant Akelare is located high on the cliffs just west of San Sebastián, where the sunset across the Bay of Biscay/Golfo de Vizcaya setup an extraordinary evening. Chef Pedro Subijana is renowned as an innovator of "new Basque" cuisine: transforming traditional recipes into delicious modern treasures. We each had a different menu, so there are twice as many dishes--we've tried to separate them between the [A] Aranori and [B] Bekarki Menus and we've used the English menu names to make it a little more approachable.
