KitchenIQ Edge Grip™ 2-Stage Knife Sharpener
So once you realize that you need to keep your knives sharp (and that you don’t want to be that person who has to apologize for your knives when friends help in the kitchen), then the question becomes not “whether”, but “how” and “how often” to sharpen your knives.
Kennedy is the knife guy in Colbrook Kitchen, and he does the heavy duty knife sharpening with the beautiful Sharpening Stones from Smith's Abrasives, and in between, he’ll use the Adjustable Sharpener. I’m a little lazier, but I still want my knives sharp, so a couple of times a day, I’ll just grab this little guy from on top of the knife rack, where he lives, and run my knife through a few times. It’s so easy, it doesn’t even feel like I’m working, but it does help sharpen the edge of my knife.
The Edge Grip™ 2-Stage Knife Sharpener from Smith's Abrasives is lightweight, portable, and easy to use. Carbide blades and crossed ceramic rods feature pre-set sharpening angles that are appropriate for most knives. Carbide blades (coarse) provide quick edge setting capabilities, and the ceramic rods (fine) are used for the final edge honing. Think of this as a “sharpening steel plus”, that’s easier to use and harder to screw up, that helps keep your knives sharp.
It comes with non-slip rubber feet and a soft grip rubber handle for comfort and steadiness when sharpening. The patented V-Grip™ bottom provides stability and comfort if you want to use the sharpener on the edge of your countertop or table.
