That’s why for years we’ve been using those funny looking tools with peg-like fingers, in the hopes of giving the pasta more impediments to its attempted escape to the floor. And they worked well enough, because no one had thought of anything better … until now ….
The clever folks at Tovolo have thought outside the box and taken their inspiration from the garden rake that effectively grabs and lifts leaves. This “rake” is made of silicone and stainless steel, so it’s heat resistant, and has ribs on all of its 5 fingers: it really does hold your pasta in place. But it’s not just for long strands of pasta, or even just for pasta at all. We used it to retrieve our ravioli from its cooking water, and it did so gently and drained it effectively. It also can be used to serve just about anything that’s a little tricky, like fruit salad or asparagus or ….
