OK, let’s start with the assumption that every once in a while you may want to reheat a plate of food: whether it’s leftovers on the second day, or a late night at work and a beautiful meal has gotten cold. Whatever the cause, you want to reheat the food in the quickest, most efficient way possible, with the least loss of flavor and quality. Probably the best and easiest way to do this is in the microwave.

But there are a few things that can happen inside your microwave: the food can splatter and make your microwave a mess, and your food can dry out or get too soggy. That’s why a microwave cover is a good idea; it protects both your food and your microwave. And if you want to melt butter (one of my personal favorite uses of the microwave)...splatters happen. But again, a good microwave food cover prevents that from being a problem.
