The issue is air. Air is the enemy that makes the ‘cut end’ go bad faster, so you need to prevent air, as much as possible, from reaching the cut end. That means pressing the cut end against a surface to minimize air contact. But you also need something that’s easy to use so you’re not struggling every time you put away or retrieve your citrus or other stored produce. The Progressive Stretch & Seal Citrus Saver and Produce Saver are cleverly designed to hold the cut end of citrus, an onion, or other small generally spherical fruit or vegetable, against the polypropylene flat plate to preserve freshness by closing a silicone film over over the top that stretches around the shape of the fruit or vegetable. Two “push’ latches easily hold the top in place and just as easily release it when you’re ready to use it. Then just slip this into your produce drawer in the refrigerator. The seal keeps the odors in, so they don’t permeate your refrigerator. There are other versions of this ‘design’ but this performs its task best of all!
