With all the rain, this is a banner year for citrus in California, but even if you’re picking up lemons and limes at your local farmers’ market or grocery store, rather than picking them off a tree, there is nothing like fresh-squeezed citrus juice for a pop of flavor: it can be fresh lemon juice added to a vegetable (or your favorite cocktail) or a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice to make your breakfast sing!

The issue is: what’s the quickest, easiest way to get that fresh juice (other than paying a premium to buy it already juiced). We’ve tested a lot, and we think we’ve found a great new solution!

Starting from the bottom up, the juice container has a large gasket to set it firmly on your countertop. The 2+ Cup container has volume markings (~7oz/200ml - up to 2.1C/500ml). The top has a large, deep, sharp reamer dome to get the most juice out of your citrus, a strainer to strain out the seeds, flanges on the side of the dome to push the juice through the strainer, and an attached crank handle that can be used with either your right or left hand. The reamer can be pulled off the top for easy cleaning and is sized to process a wide range of citrus fruit - from limes to grapefruit - while capturing the seeds above and away from the juice below. And the high-mounted pour spout assures a controlled seedless pour-off: for your recipes, cocktails, or plain fresh juice.

But the fundamental beauty of the Crank-It Juicer is in its operation: instead of holding and twisting the fruit OVER the reamer, you use the crank to rotate the reamer UNDER the fruit! This inversion of the juicing process achieves maximum juice yield, while minimizing strain on your hands and wrists.
