Two things are essential to a delicious dish: flavor and presentation. Any dish you serve should both taste good and look good! That means tasting your dish as you go along, and plating it attractively, when it is ready to serve. As your dish begins to cook, as the herbs, spices, and salt begin to meld, you can begin tasting with the ¼ teaspoon tasting spoon - large enough to sample for taste but not too large to waste or to burn your tongue. Rinse the spoon and repeat until the desired flavor balance is achieved.
And when you finally are ready to serve, the tweezers have ribbed tips for a firm grip that allows you to place the garnish - eg, different varieties of parsley, a tiny vegetable, a fresh or fried ring of green onion, your preferred choice of coarsely chopped nuts, even caviar - precisely where you wish, for the best artistic effect on the dish.
