We always look for kitchen tools that are high design, high functionality, but sometimes we see something that blows us away.
When we were walking the show in Chicago last month, we were gob-smacked by the beautiful stainless steel oil bottles at the Ipac booth (an Italian company, so good design is almost a given.) Then we found out that they had a study from the University of Florence that proclaimed that stainless steel preserves the quality of extra virgin olive oil far longer than glass. Then we got samples to test and were so impressed with the way not only that they pour, but, more importantly, that they stop pouring...without a drop or drip. These bottles are the holy grail of olive oil bottles: beautiful, effective, functional and reasonably priced. We couldn’t wait to offer them to you!
There are 3 styles, each holds 500ml/16.9 fl ounces of oil, and, of course, we each have our favorite.
The Cigno is a sleek vessel with an integrated pour spout and a stainless steel lid. It is 7.25”/18.4cm tall and 3.5”/8.9cm diameter at its base.
The Belly is wide bottomed with a pour spout in the removable stainless steel and silicone lid. It is 8.25”/21cm tall and 4”/10.2cm diameter at its base.
The Elegante has an elegant handle and integrated pour spout with a close-fitting stainless steel cap. It is 9.5”/24.1cm tall and 3.5”/8.9cm diameter at its base.
Each of these would be equally comfortable on a formal dining table as it would be in the kitchen. If you use different olive oils, you may want more than one. And this makes an elegant gift for any hostess or friend on your list. It is the very essence of a Cool Tool!
